This is the recommended hardware specification for running DentalPlus. If you plan to run any other software, e.g.
imaging systems, please take into account their minimum/recommendations as they may be higher than these.
Server and workstations
If you choose to host DentalPlus within your practice, you will need to install a standalone server for your network along with the workstations.

If imaging software is linked to any of these computers, consider memory size and request the faster processor to handle with the additional graphical demand.
Network
We recommend that a fixed cable network is in place to maintain the fastest speed between the workstations and server. Connecting to the network wirelessly is possible but transmission speeds may be reduced.
Tablets
For Digital Signatures and Patient Self Check-in ONLY
Android tablets or iPads can be used for Digital Signatures or Patient Self Check-in. Due to the speed of updates, reliability and cost, we recommend using an Android Tablet. Currently we recommend the Amazon Fire 10 as it is reasonably prices and the screen is readable by most patients. Please contact DentalPlus to discuss other options before purchasing.
Hardware supply and support
We highly recommend using a hardware support company to assist you with your hardware. Hardware supply and support is available through our partner Technocure. Please contact DentalPlus for more information.
Remote support
For DentalPlus to maintain the product and provide instant support, the remote access software TeamViewer will need to be installed onto all computers that DentalPlus will be used, providing us with secure access to your computers.
Backups
DentalPlus will carry out two daily backups of your DentalPlus data remotely. We highly recommend that an internal backup is also carried out, if your internet may be down and the DentalPlus backup is not successful. We recommend using multiple removable hard disks as they will have the capacity for storing DentalPlus data plus your digital images.
