There have been new additions to the treatment items from April 2022 and a change to ACORN submissions...

New items
  1. Virtual Consultation Provided 
  2. Caries Treatment Offered 
  3. Perio Treatment Offered 
  4. Removal of Plaque Retentive Factors
  5. Toothbrushing Advice
  6. Inter Dental Cleaning Aids
  7. Oral Hygiene Improvement Plan
  8. Dietary Changes Agreed
  9. Brief Intervention in Smoking/Tobacco Use and Referral
  10. Brief Intervention in Alcohol Use and Referral
  11. Advice on Fluoride Toothpaste and Spit No Rinse
  12. Root Filling - Molar
  13. Non-surgical Extraction
  14. Surgical Extraction
  15. Upper Metal Denture
  16. Lower Metal Denture
  17. Antibiotics
  18. High Fluoride Toothpaste/Daily Rinse
  19. Oral Hygiene Mouthwash
  20. Oral Medicine Mouthwash/Sprays
  21. Analgesics
  22. Antifungals/Antivirals
  23. Sedatives
  24. Artificial Saliva Products
In with the new items are three, where one of these is Mandatory on all claims with a start date after 01/04/2022. We've added these to a new section called "2022 Mandatory Items" and you should choose one to add to the treatment plan.
  1. Presented for routine visit
  2. Presented for Pain / Infection
  3. Presented for Other / Advice
ACORN changes
  1. We now send the Plaque Score along with the ACORN details, and this now shows on the FP17 submission screen for claims starting after 01/04/2022.
  2. You can now send a non-ACORN claim by choosing the form type in the dropdown on the right side of the FP17 submission screen (image below). There are four options... ACORN, Exam not possible, Interim care review & Exam not necessary. Choosing an option other than ACORN will hide the ACORN form details as these are not needed and will not be submitted with the claim.
